Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services to the community.

SASSA will be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the significant quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office focused on service the area SRD each day. The support stage created for intervention ordeals a substantial influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it challenging for your Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to permit the servicing of all consumers and improve usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.

For more information, community members can call toll free SRD during working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 and WhatsApp on 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
